SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) – Springfield police are investigating after an early morning stabbing.

It happened in the 2500 block of East North Grand Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

When police arrived, they found a 23-year-old man who had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital and died from his injuries.

According to Springfield Police, the incident happened in the 3000 block of Louise Lane.

A person of interest is currently being interviewed.

This remains under investigation.
