Omaha Police Identify, Arrest Suspect in Sexual Assault Reported to RiverFront

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha Police have made an arrest in connection with a sexual assault reported at the RiverFront on the morning of June 15.

OPD tells 6 News that Terry Williams, 41, is in the Douglas County Jail and faces a charge of first-degree sexual assault. Williams also has convictions for obstructing a peace officer and an outstanding arrest warrant.

Officers were called to the area of 12th Street and Gallup Drive shortly before 6 a.m. An adult victim, a woman, told them she was walking when a man approached her and followed her for some time before sexually assaulting her. She was able to escape and get help nearby.
