Oklahoma City police officer found dead at Stanley Draper Lake identified

The search for missing OCPD Officer Greyson Fox has ended after he was found dead Tuesday morning, according to Oklahoma City police.

Fox was identified by police Tuesday afternoon.

OCPD said the department received a call at the lake around 6 p.m. Monday reporting a man overboard.

Once on scene, Oklahoma City Fire Department officials said they were told four people were on a boat when two of them fell into the water.

Passengers were able to recover one of the passengers who fell into the water, but lost contact with the other, an adult male, who never resurfaced.

Dive teams used sonar technology to search the lake. Although they normally suspend searches at night, they felt it was prudent to continue.

“Typically we suspend recovery operations for the safety of our divers,” said OKCFD Commander Jim Williams. “But with the current nice, calm weather, we may be able to continue through the night.”

Search teams found Fox around 3 a.m.

The OCPD shared the news of Fox's death on social media Tuesday, noting that he was off-duty at the time. The OCPD said Fox launched the academy in August 2023.
