Ohio professional bowler sentenced after pleading guilty to child pornography charges – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO — An Ohio professional bowler was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges, WCMH-4 and AP reported.

Brandon Novak, 35, of Chillicothe, Ohio, was sentenced to nearly five years in prison, nearly two months after pleading guilty to 15 charges.

Novak was charged with five counts of procuring sexual material involving a minor and 10 counts of illegally using a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, both reported media.

On February 1, he was arrested by US Marshals during the 2024 US Open bowling tournament in Indianapolis.

Novak will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender. He will retain the label for 25 years with no legal way to withdraw it early.

Chillicothe police opened an investigation in 2023 after a Facebook complaint indicated Novak's account was linked to child sexual abuse material, according to the AP.

Novak eventually admitted to purchasing child pornography and trying to cover it up, the AP reported.
