Ogden, Utah, fire causes estimated $100,000 in damage, displaces two people

OGDEN, UT (ABC4) — Ogden fire crews reported a fire at a one-story home that caused an estimated $100,000 in damage Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 1:15 p.m. Saturday, authorities responded to the scene and saw “an active fire coming from the structure,” according to a news release from the Ogden City Fire Department.

“Crews quickly mitigated the fire hazard by containing the fire to the attic,” the press release said.

Authorities said the cause of the fire was still under investigation and damage from the fire was estimated at around $100,000.

No injuries were reported following the fire, but Ogden firefighters said two adults were displaced after the fire.

Officials said 21 firefighters – from the Ogen City and South Ogden fire departments – responded to the scene and brought a ladder truck, a rescue truck, a tiller, three engines and an ambulance. The battalion commander also went there.

There is no further information at this time.
