Officers Arrest Millsboro Man for Fifth Offense Drunk Driving – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police arrested 40-year-old man Antonio Mancilla Pertuzfrom Millsboro, Delaware, for 5th DUI violation, following a traffic stop Friday evening.

On May 24, 2024, at approximately 8:09 p.m., a police officer observed a Volkswagen Jetta speeding eastbound on Millsboro Highway. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Antonio Mancilla-Pertuz. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Mancilla-Pertuz's breath and observed signs of impairment during their interaction.

Standardized field sobriety tests were administered and, based on the results, Mancilla-Pertuz was arrested for driving under the influence. A subsequent computer check revealed he had four previous drink-driving convictions and was driving without a valid license. During a search of his vehicle, an open container of beer was found.

Mancilla-Pertuz was transported to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and incarcerated at the Sussex Correctional Facility on $6 cash bail. $301.
