Odessa murder investigation leads to arrest of two teenagers

ODESSA, Texas — Two teenagers are in custody after a man was allegedly shot and killed in Odessa Friday afternoon, according to the City of Odessa.

On Friday around 3:39 p.m., Odessa Emergency Communications received several calls regarding shots fired in the 1800 block of Newcomb Dr.

When officers arrived, they observed blood on the roadway and a trail of blood leading to a home where two individuals were exiting the residence.

As police evacuated the residence, they found a man dead with an apparent gunshot wound.

According to an OPD investigation, investigators learned that the two arrested individuals were involved in the shooting and that one of the suspects admitted to the shooting.

Based on what OPD learned and observation of surveillance footage, two teenagers, Brayden Roupp, 18, and a 16-year-old female, were arrested and charged at the scene with murder.

“Anyone with information or surveillance video of this incident is encouraged to contact the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641 and refer to case number 24-6980. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. At this point, there is no reason to believe there are any outstanding suspects and this case appears to be isolated. city ​​of Odessa.
