Obsession with 'Reels' kills two teenagers in Hyderabad

Social media has become an integral part of the lives of today's youth, especially platforms like Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok.

Reels culture is particularly dominant among this generation. However, the obsession with making Reels and seeking glory can sometimes lead to dangerous situations.

In a tragic incident in Hyderabad, two teenagers died and one was seriously injured in a bike accident.

To go into details, Sandhya Uday Kumar (17), resident of Bhavani Nagar of Suraram Colony, Shiva Deekshit (17), resident of Sai Baba Nagar, and another boy (17) of Malla Reddy Nagar are childhood friend.

They recently completed their intermediate. They gathered Friday evening to celebrate the third boy's birthday, which fell on Saturday.

After celebrating by cutting a cake at midnight, they borrowed another friend's scooter and headed towards the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge, with Uday Kumar at the wheel.

They were heading towards Madhapur via Forum Mall from Kukatpally. While rolling, they made reels. As a result, Uday, who was not focused on his driving, hit a stationary DCM near pillar number 822, opposite Ratnadeep Supermarket.

In the accident, Uday Kumar and Shiva Deekshit died on the spot. The third boy was seriously injured and was shifted to Gandhinagar hospital. We hear that his situation is critical.

The driver of the DCM had parked his vehicle on the secondary lane with parking lights on, but the tragic accident occurred, killing two people.
