Obnoxious 'Instagram rich kid' arrested on father's boat after drunkenly harassing restaurant staff

An obnoxious “rich kid” has gone viral after video was shared showing police arresting him on his father's boat after his alleged drunken harassment of restaurant staff.

Body camera footage shows Florida police telling Luis Barrios, who has 43,000 followers on the social media platform, to stop moving a boat that was sliding down a canal. “Stay there! You're going to be charged with a crime if you don't stop!” one officer can be heard saying.

“Talk to my father. Talk to my dad,” Barrios responds in the undated clip.

After police insisted he had to dock the boat and was going to be arrested, Barrios groaned, saying the officer had already taken him to jail: “I'm anxious because of you.” I was diagnosed with paranoia.

The officer responds, “No one cares about your TikTok. Nobody cares. You are a child. Get off the boat.

“Which TikTok guy? I'm going to jail! Barrios responded.

He then called the police officer a “son of a bitch” and threatened to “spit in his face”.

“Well, you’re threatening law enforcement,” one officer said, informing Barrios that another charge had been added against him.

Police were initially called after staff at the Sunset Grill in Marathon, Florida, reported that Barrios and his friends were swearing loudly and causing a disturbance by threatening them, according to the YouTuber who posted the video. The suspects left the scene on a boat which was reported to the police. The officers followed the boat and the video begins with them running toward the boat and telling Barrios, who was driving it, to stop.

Eventually, the boat was docked and police handcuffed Barrios in this wild scene. He was escorted to a police car in front of others on the boat, who were also threatened with arrest if they did not follow police orders.

A police officer stood over Barrios in the car and explained, “All the neighbors on this street called, man.

Barrios asked why they had complained, to which the officer responded: “the parties, the drinking, the weed eating, the threats.”

The officers, far from the immediate chaos of the incident, were also talking about Barrios. “He has been a thorn in our side over the last two months. He's a privileged child. He comes from a privileged family,” one said.

Neighbors told police that Barrios' unnamed father was a “hard-working guy” but that the teen was a “spoiled brat.”

The video then shows Barrios handcuffed while sitting on a bench in jail. “My dad is fucking rich!” he shouted to an officer, who responded nonchalantly, “Congratulations.” Barrios then threatened several times to attack the police officers who were near him.

It is unclear when the video was taken. The independent contacted the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for more information.

However, police records show Barrios was arrested in March 2023 by Florida Fish and Wildlife. He was arrested for possession of alcohol by a minor, three misdemeanors, including disturbing the peace, and a felony charge of fleeing police on a boat. He was arrested two more times in 2023, both for alcohol-related offenses.
