Novato Police Arrest 8 Sinaloa College Students After Planned Campus Assault

Novato police arrested eight Sinaloa Middle School students aged 12 to 14 on Tuesday following an assault on a fellow student that occurred on the North Bay campus last Friday.

According to a news release released Wednesday afternoon by Novato police, authorities were notified of an assault that occurred at the school Friday shortly before 1 p.m. An initial investigation carried out by the police revealed that after the planned lunch at school, a group of students carried out a planned operation. attack on a single student.

Police said that when the student being attacked was attacked, other students gathered around and began recording the incident on their phones and encouraging the fight. A second student who tried to stop the fight was also attacked. The two students attacked suffered moderate injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation, according to police.

Officers immediately began an investigation into the incident with Novato Unified School District officials and Sinaloa Middle School staff, quickly identifying all parties involved. On Tuesday, police found and arrested eight Sinaloa students involved in the assault. The students arrested were aged 12 to 14. The children were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall on charges of conspiracy and felonious assault.

In their statement, police thanked community members who provided additional information about the case, as well as witnesses and officials from the Novato Unified School District and Sinaloa Middle School.
