Notes: Onelife Fitness reopens in Carlyle after fatal shooting

Three days after a deadly shooting at Onelife Fitness in Carlyle, the gym is reopening today.

On Saturday, Charles Hewitt, 30, shot and killed Joshua Wilcox, 29, at the gym before shooting himself in the head. Hewitt and Wilcox were both taken to hospital, but both died from their injuries.

The gym had been closed since the incident, but reopened this morning (Tuesday).

“We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during our closure,” Onelife’s director said in a note to community members. “The outpouring of support from the Alexandria community has been truly moving. Your support and loyalty means the world to us.”
