Northwest DC rocked by 2 shootings that injured 3 people Tuesday afternoon – NBC4 Washington

Police responded to three people shot within a mile and a half of each other in Northwest D.C. Tuesday afternoon. Two of the victims are believed to have come from the same incident.

The first shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Kansas Ave NW. A man was shot in an alley and is in critical condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black ski mask, beige hooded sweatshirt and black jeans and was driving a black and white motorized scooter.

DC Fire, EMS and the Metropolitan Police Department then responded to the second shooting. They were called to the 1300 block of Peabody Street where a man had been shot in the leg shortly before 4:45 p.m.

Albero Angel was renovating a house in the neighborhood when he heard gunshots and listened to the sound of bullets ricocheting.

Angel hit the ground, where he said he stayed for “maybe three minutes.”

They then received a call in the same area, 13th Street between Peabody and Colorado Avenue, where a 79-year-old woman sitting in a parked car suffered a graze wound to her head. She was found conscious.

Police said there was a shooting between two groups of men. There were three men in each group and they were last seen running down Georgia Avenue.

Police said investigators do not believe the two shootings are related.
