NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster Community Public Library announced the expansion of the Teen Space, now including a Nintendo Switch and four gaming computers. Teens and tweens are invited to enjoy these new additions each time the library opens. library.

Nintendo Switch delivers a dynamic gaming experience, allowing teens to challenge their friends in a Mario Kart tournament or relax with single-player adventures in Minecraft. Additionally, the four gaming computers provide access to educational software as well as a variety of popular games, such as Roblox, creating a versatile space for entertainment and learning.

NWCPL invites all teens and tweens to explore these new features and make the most of the expanded Teen space. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Weekly Library Events

The following activities are expected to take place at the North Webster Community Public Library. Participants do not need to have a library card to attend any of these events. All programs are free unless otherwise noted.

Adult events

Writers Corner will meet at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25. Writers of all genres are invited to share tips and tricks, network with other writers, and participate in a monthly prompt. June’s writing prompt is: “Summer is here! Write about a day at the lake.

Teen events

Teen Toon Time will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 24. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to the library for a time to relax, laugh and relax. From classic Saturday morning cartoons to recent anime releases, there's something for everyone.

Teens are invited to make a paint chip name garland during Teen Open Craft on Tuesday, June 25 at noon. Turn paint chips into colorful decoration for your room or bring your own supplies and create something unique. Supplies for paint chip garlands will be provided.

Come craft in the afternoon from 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 27. Teenagers are invited to make a mini cryptid creature out of felt. Choose from a Mothman or Loch Ness Monster pattern. All materials and sewing tips provided. No registration required.

Children's events

Come play with blocks at Purdue Extension's Block Party at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 24. Parents and children are invited to come play during this fun and engaging event for the whole family.

Family story time will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25. Library staff member Sherrie Momeyer will share stories and have fun in this program for children ages 2-7.

Get up close to the animals at Mark's Ark live animal shows on Wednesday June 26. Show times are 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet a wide variety of animals. from snakes, turtles and other reptiles to birds and four-legged friends. Please collect free tickets from the Children's Desk for a guaranteed seat at your desired show time.

Learn the ins and outs of guinea pig rescue and care on Know Your Neighbor at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27. Stacie Prins, local guinea pig rescuer, will share tips and tricks and children will have the opportunity to get up close and personal. and personal with the many guinea pigs she will bring for you to meet.

Get ready to move and groove during Zumba for Kids at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28. With kid-friendly routines and music everyone loves, this high-energy dance party is the perfect way for kids to work on their moves and get their hips moving. their hearts are racing. No experience necessary.

Saturday Craft Adventures will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. This week they will be making craft campfires and pebble art.
