North Port woman arrested after stealing boat in Port Charlotte

A North Port woman was arrested Monday after she stole a boat and tried to drive away from deputies in Port Charlotte. Shannon Kraham, 41, allegedly stole the boat from Lashley Marina. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 12:07 p.m. Upon arrival, officers observed the boat and suspect located immediately adjacent to the rocks on the east side of the northbound US-41 Bridge on the Charlotte Harbor Waterway. . Deputies say they ordered Kraham to come toward them before the suspect jumped from the boat and began swimming away from shore. Civilians present on the scene were able to bring the unoccupied boat ashore.
