North Olmsted Giant Eagle Stabbing Leaves 3-Year-Old Boy Dead

A 3-year-old boy is dead after authorities say a Cleveland woman attacked and stabbed the boy and his mother outside a northeast Ohio grocery store in what appears to be a random act of violence.

The horrific attack took place Monday in front of a giant eagle in the town of North Olmsted, a suburb of Cleveland, police reported.

On Tuesday, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the child as 3-year-old Julian Wood of North Olmsted.

Just after 3 p.m., officers responded to several 911 calls about a stabbing in the grocery chain's parking lot, the North Olmsted Police Department reported in a news release.

“All information gathered at this time indicates that this was a random act of violence and that the accused and the victims never met,” the police spokesperson said on Tuesday. North Olmsted, Matt Beck, at USA TODAY.

Upon arrival, police located the victims and began providing first aid. Witnesses at the scene gave officers a description of the stabbing suspect and took the person into custody at the scene.

Police identified the stabbing suspect as Bionca Ellis, 32, of Cleveland, according to the release.
