North Olmsted giant eagle stabbed

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WJW) – North Olmsted police are investigating after a woman and her 2-year-old child were stabbed outside a Giant Eagle grocery store Monday afternoon.

Officers were called shortly after 3 p.m. to a possible stabbing in the Giant Eagle parking lot in the 27200 block of Lorain Road.

Once officers arrived on scene, they were able to locate the suspect, identified as Bionca Ellis, 32, of Cleveland. She was taken into custody.

Other officers at the scene began providing first aid to both victims before they were taken to St. John Medical Center.

In a statement, North Olmsted Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones confirmed the stabbing victims were a customer and her two-year-old son. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

“Our hearts go out to the two victims of what appears to be a random act of violence,” the mayor said in a statement. “Once again, our North Olmsted security forces responded quickly and handled the situation with great professionalism. »

A Giant Eagle spokesperson told FOX 8 they are aware of the incident and are working closely with authorities.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
