North Carolina teen arrested on illegal gun charges

MEDOC, N.C. (WNCN) — An Enfield man faced additional charges stemming from a May 28 narcotics investigation.

On May 28 at 2:45 p.m., Halifax County Sheriff's Office deputies conducted a traffic stop for a window tinting violation. Deputies could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.


The sheriff's office said they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and several firearms.

Naquavun Richardson, 19, of Enfield, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and window tint violation.

On Friday, the sheriff's office said that upon further investigation, it was discovered that one of the firearms had been illegally modified to make an automatic weapon, which constitutes a class F felony.

Detective A. Holland issued an additional warrant for a weapons violation. The sheriff's office said Richardson was wanted on that charge.
