North Carolina man charged with shooting at car during road rage incident in Danville

DANVILLE, Virginia – A North Carolina man faces multiple criminal charges related to a road rage incident in Danville on Tuesday, according to the Danville Police Department.

Police said around 4 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of ​​the 700 block of Halifax Road. Shortly after, a victim reported his vehicle had been struck by bullets during a road rage incident.

Based on information gathered at the scene, the suspect vehicle and its driver, Marlowe Cobbs, 28, of Milton, North Carolina, were identified and located in Caswell County, North Carolina.

Cobbs was extradited to Virginia and charged with the following:

  • Shooting from a vehicle

  • Attempted aggravated voluntary injury

  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a crime

  • Discharging a firearm in public

  • Child endangerment

  • Shots fired at occupied vehicle

He is being held in the Danville City Jail without bail.
