North Branch, Minn., man transported after being pinned under tractor near Sauk Center – West Central Tribune

GETTY TOWNSHIP — A man was transported to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment after suffering serious leg injuries in a farming accident.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a report around 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8 of a farming accident in Getty Township. According to a news release issued Tuesday morning, the caller reported a man was trapped under a tractor that had overturned.

Sheriff's deputies, Sauk Center Police, Sauk Center Fire and Rescue, Sauk Center Ambulance and Life Link Air Care all responded to the scene.

When officers arrived, they found Eric Bergum, 51, of North Branch, on the ground with an injured leg.

According to the release, Bergum and others were attempting to back a tractor off a trailer. The trailer moved and the tractor overturned while Bergum was driving it.

Witnesses at the scene used a skid steer to lift Bergum's tractor before first responders arrived, according to the release.

Bergum was transported to Sauk Center Hospital with “severe leg injuries,” as described in the press release, and then transferred via Life Link to CentraCare Hospital – St. Cloud for further treatment.

Bergum's current condition was not disclosed in the Tuesday morning news release from the sheriff's office.
