Norfolk man arrested, treated for apparent overdose by troopers, jailed following alleged domestic dispute

NORFOLK — A Norfolk man who fled state police was arrested and later received life-saving measures related to a possible drug overdose, according to state police.

Troopers reportedly responded May 28 to Sober Street Norfolk for an alleged domestic dispute. The investigation determined that Zachary D. Linsky, 31, was involved in an altercation.

As officers approached the residence, they allegedly saw Linsky grab the victim with both hands. He fled the scene into the woods and evaded police, including a K-9 unit.

Police located Linsky on June 1 while he was a passenger in a vehicle and he then resisted arrest, police said.

Linsky refused to listen to orders and led troopers on a foot chase before being arrested, officers said.

He complained of chest pain and the soldiers came to his aid. Linsky had an apparent medical episode that was determined to be a possible overdose, so police gave him two doses of Narcan to help.

Norfolk Rescue arrived on scene and took Linsky to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment.

After medical treatment, Linsky was jailed on two counts of second-degree assault, first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated domestic trespass, all felonies.

He was also cited for second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, officers said.

Linksy was jailed on $20,000 bail, police said.
