Norenty Ropon pleads guilty to stabbing Aurora to death

Norenty Ropon, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of Haruna Bizabishaka Bonanee.

AURORA, Colo. — A man pleaded guilty Tuesday to a stabbing that killed a 33-year-old man in Aurora last year, according to court documents.

Norenty Ropon, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of Haruna Bizabishaka Bonanee.

The Aurora Police Department said the stabbing occurred July 13, 2023 on Alton Street between 16th and 17th Avenues. Police said officers responded around 9:23 p.m. to a report that a man had stabbed the victim during an argument. The victim was taken to hospital, where he died.

Ropon is scheduled to be sentenced on August 30.
