Niteesha Kandula, Telugu student, missing in Los Angeles, US

HYDERABAD: Students of Indian origin in the United States have found themselves facing a series of problems in recent months. A 23-year-old student from Hyderabad, identified as Niteesha Kandula, has gone missing in California. The police have been looking for her for a week.

Nitheesha Kandula is a student at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). She has been missing since May 28. The university posted on “X” that she was last seen in Los Angeles. She has been missing since then.

The CSUB filed a complaint with the local police. Residents have been asked to inform police as soon as they become aware of it.

The Los Angeles Police Department has issued a missing person alert asking for the public's help in locating the student who has been missing for several days. Nitheesha Kandula was last seen in Los Angeles on Tuesday, May 28, although the exact area is unknown, CSUSB Police Chief John Gutierrez said.

Police shared a photo of Kandula on X, saying she may be in a 2021 Toyota Corolla with license plate number 9KXU509.

Last month, Rupesh Chandra from Telangana went missing in Chicago. We still don't know where he is. In March this year, Mohammed Abdul Arafat, a resident of Hyderabad, went missing. A month later, his body was found in a lake in Cleveland, Ohio. Abdul was kidnapped by a drug gang in Cleveland. He called his father and asked for money.
