Nine people arrested after two injured in horror stabbing attack in Bristol

Nine people have been arrested following a stabbing attack in Bristol which left two people injured.

Officers remain at the scene and a cordon remains in place following the assault which took place near Rawnsley Park, Bristol, at around 4.40am on Sunday.

Two men in their 20s were taken to hospital with knife wounds, one in a serious condition, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Nine people were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody.

Officers believe the individuals involved know each other.

Neighborhood Policing Chief Inspector Scott Hill said: “This is a significant incident and I am aware that there have been a number of similar incidents of this nature over the years. last months.

“I also understand that there is great concern in the community about knife crime.

“We remain committed to reducing serious violence and knife crime, particularly among young people.

“Earlier this year we launched a proactive operation targeting serious violence and knife crime and are working closely with our partners to identify and tackle the root causes.

“A police cordon remains in place at Beaumont Terrace and Rawnsley Park and officers will provide an increased high visibility presence in the area over the coming days.

“If you have any concerns or questions, please speak to our officers on patrol.”

Easton Way is closed between the junction with Stapleton Road and Pennywell Road. There is also no access to Easton Way from Old Market.

Police have asked witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Stapleton Road or Rawnsley Park area between 4.15am and 5am to call 101 and use reference number 5224148270.
