Dutch military police said in a statement that a 41-year-old woman was arrested for trying to leave the country while in “possession of soft drugs, which is prohibited.”

Earlier, the 12-time Grammy nominated singer posted a video on Instagram Live showing her discussing the arrest with an Amsterdam police officer. The police officer said she was being detained “because you were transporting drugs” when she asked the reason for her arrest.

Minaj took to X to update her followers on the dramatic events. “Now they said they found some weed & that another group of people needs to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind that they took my luggage without my consent. My security has already told them that these pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yeah & the pilot wants me to delete my post on Instagram,” she wrote in a message.

Minaj was fined and later released, Dutch police announced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“We have just released a 41-year-old American woman who we arrested this afternoon at Schiphol Airport, suspected of exporting soft drugs. After consultation with the public prosecutor, the suspect was fined and can prosecute his way,” police said. in a report.

Minaj was scheduled to perform in Manchester, England on Saturday night.

Promoter Live Nation said the show would be postponed and tickets would be honored.

“Despite Nicki's best efforts to explore every possible avenue for tonight's show to take place, today's events have made that impossible,” the promoter said in a statement. “We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”
