Nashik: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested a resident of Nashik for his alleged involvement in human trafficking and cyber fraud. The arrested person, Sudarshan Darade, was arrested following massive searches in Nashik, which resulted in the seizure of several incriminating materials, including documents, digital devices and bank account details, a press release said published by the NIA. The agency is investigating the plot and Darade's involvement in it. Senior Nashik police officers, however, said they were not aware of any searches carried out by the NIA. or any other agency in Nashik. The NIA, in its statement, said Darade was the sixth person arrested in less than three weeks. Darade was directly involved in the organized trafficking syndicate, engaged in luring and trafficking Indian youth to foreign countries on the basis of false promises of employment. According to the agency, the youths were forced to work in fake call centers in Laos, the Golden Triangle SEZ and Cambodia. , among other things, through a complex syndicate, controlled and operated primarily by foreign nationals. The syndicates were linked to agents based in various parts of India, as well as other countries like the UAE and Vietnam, besides Cambodia and Laos SEZ, the agency said in the statement.
