This week, the jury needed less than an hour to convict 51-year-old Michael Anthony Myers. The sentencing capped a three-week trial in Catawba County Superior Court, according to a news release from District Attorney Scott Reilly's office.

Judge William A. Wood sentenced Myers Tuesday.

Judge Wood handed down judgments in favor of the defendant which included four counts of rape of a victim aged 15 or under; two counts of statutory sexual offense with a victim 15 years of age or younger; two counts of incest; six counts of sexual conduct by a substitute parent; and five counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Additionally, the judge issued a permanent no contact order and ruled that the defendant must register as a sex offender for a period of 30 years.
