Newport police arrest eight this weekend

The Newport Police Department provided the following arrest and dispatch logs from 7 a.m. May 31 to 7 a.m. June 3, 2024.

Arrest log

On Friday, May 31 at 9:30 a.m., Tatyana Stanton, 27, of Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested by Detective Walsh on two charges of Manuf/Del/Poss W/Intent Manuf/Del Sch I/II Cont Sub- 1st. Disabled.

On Friday, May 31 at 9:45 a.m., Keishon McCants, 26, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was arrested by Detective Walsh on two counts of Possession of Schedule I, II, III, IV, V (Except Marijuana) <10 grams. .

At 11:25 a.m. on Friday, May 31, Michael Glucksman, 57, of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, was arrested by Officer Anderson for Driving on a Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled License 4th Offense and Up. From MV when recording is paused.

On Friday, May 31 at 3:40 p.m., Yancell Batista, 44, of Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested by Officer Arel on charges of Domestic – Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Violence – Simple Assault/and/or Battery – 1st offense.

On Friday, May 31 at 6:29 p.m., Jabril Valentine, 31, of Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested by Detective Thurston on charges of weapons other than prohibited firearms, domestic disorderly conduct and battery domestic – simple assault and/or Battery – 1st offense.

On Friday, May 31 at 8:40 p.m., Roberto Moura, 55, of Newport, Rhode Island, was arrested by Officer Lubin for assault on a person over 60 years of age causing bodily injury and disorderly conduct.

At 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, Joseph Farina, 35, of Arlington, Massachusetts, was arrested by Officer Michaud on charges of simple assault or battery and disorderly conduct.

On Sunday, June 2 at 7:15 p.m., Richard Johnson, 53, of Providence, Rhode Island, was arrested for obtaining food/accommodation with intent to defraud.

Presumption of innocence: Persons arrested, taken into custody, or summoned/cited must be presumed innocent of their charges until proven guilty in a court of law.
