Newcastle could push to sell an exciting young winger to comply with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules, according to a report.

It's possible the Magpies will have to sell players if they want to buy this summer, with a number of their stars, including Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak, linked with moves.

One of their players, only arriving last summer for £6.5 million, could provide the opportunity to turn a profit for the club, although reports suggest they are reluctant to part ways.

The 19-year-old moved straight out on loan after joining the club from Odense Boldklub in Denmark, enjoying a season with Feyenoord in the Eredivisie under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot.

The man in question is Yankuba Minteh, who, according to The Telegraph, is now on a fee of around £40 million, with the Reds interested in his services.

Minteh scored 11 goals in 33 games in the Netherlands last season, impressing Slot, who could push for the Gambia international to join him at Anfield this summer.

Reports suggest the 45-year-old believes the wide man has the potential to become one of the best young strikers in Europe and was full of praise for him during their time together.

“Our scouts were also impressed with his year at Odense,” Slot said of Minteh in October. “Then (Feyenoord general manager) Dennis te Kloese came to join the technical staff.

“Minteh went to Newcastle United and the English were looking for a club to loan him to. That’s how he came to us.

“He certainly doesn’t lack confidence. His willingness to give everything is enormous. When you see his stats, it’s really impressive. Minteh runs more sprint meters against Ajax in an hour than many other boys do in two games.

“He’s incredibly fast. And he wants it so bad.

Minteh was signed by Dan Ashworth and Newcastle could make a nice profit of over £33m if they are to receive their £40m asking price.

However, Liverpool are not the only ones interested in his services. Reports suggest that the Reds, if they want to make a move, will have to fend off interest from Italian and German clubs.

His potential departure would mean it would be easier for Newcastle to keep hold of Bruno Guimaraes (pictured)

Newcastle would apparently prefer to keep their man, but know they may have to get rid of players, and their desire to bring in a new right forward means there could be an opportunity for the teenager to leave.

His departure would mean it would be easier to retain Gordon and Isak, while Bruno Guimaraes continues to be linked with a move away.

The Brazilian star has a £100million release clause in his contract, valid until the end of June, and has said his future “is in God's hands”.
