Backhand blades

This new variant of swords is wielded in a reverse grip style and can be used for quick, slashing attacks. However, unlike classic dual use, each Backhand blade can be used with two hands instead of being held with two hands, allowing you to block with them where other dual-wielding blades couldn't. These blades also feature a quick weapon skill that combines knockback with a sideways follow-up slice to flank and attack enemies from their unprotected sides.

Perfumer's bottles

Originally used only as tools and reusable consumables in the base game of Elden Ring, you can now equip and wield Perfumer's bottles indefinitely in your hand. These compact bottles held between fingers can throw sparks of different elemental types, causing frost or fire on command, and provide a new moveset that lets you unleash powerful quick attacks or huge charged attacks that spread blasts. explosions all around you.

Odachi

Confirmed by Miyazaki in the aforementioned interview, there will be a new katana variation called odachi. THE odachi are historically much larger than a katana blade, making it a sword in its own right, parallel to the Western Zweihander, and the perfect anti-cavalry weapon. While the base game featured Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's Nagakiba with an elongated blade, the odachi weapon class appears to have its own moveset and is likely much slower than a traditional katana weapon in Elden Ring, while dealing significantly more damage in a single hit.

Unconfirmed variants

A few more weapons were shown off during the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree preview, but so far it's unconfirmed whether these are a new variant or just additional weapons of an existing type with new effects.

One of these new weapons includes a long straight sword named Madam, which seems to have a very different moveset than most other swords. He is capable of performing long combo attacks, even when countering an enemy attack with a guard counter to slash multiple times.
