New Jersey's Metuchen Fire Displaces Residents From Redfield Village Apartments

METUCHEN – Two residents were injured and tenants of eight Redfield Village apartments were displaced following a fire Saturday morning at the housing complex on Amboy Avenue across from Tano Shopping Center.

The fire was reported shortly before 11 a.m., according to the Metuchen Fire Department Facebook page.

Heavy smoke and fires were seen on both floors and several sides when firefighters arrived, according to the fire station.

“After nearly five hours of work, 17 of our members cleared the scene. The scene remains under investigation. A huge thank you for the mutual assistance that came with additional firefighters and support to help our community,” said the Metuchen Fire Department Facebook post said. , thanking the Edison, New Market, South Amboy, South Plainfield, Iselin 11 and Sayreville fire departments as well as Hackensack Meridian-JFK University Medical Center EMS and Edison EMS
