New Gilbert Police Report Reveals Disturbing Snapchat Messages After Teen Attack

GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — A Gilbert police report released Wednesday reveals shocking details of an ambush of a teenager who is now campaigning for a ban on brass knuckles.

Documents say the victim, who was identified as Connor Jarnagan, was waiting with a friend in the parking lot of In-N-Out Burger near Williams Field Road and Santan Village Parkway on Dec. 30, 2022, when the chief 10 -12 teenagers told them how pretty his red Mustang was.

“You have a very nice car; you must be rich. Give me $20,” the suspect said.

Jarnagan refused and the leader threatened to take his car, leading to a fight, police said.

That's when Jarnagan was allegedly hit in the back of the head with brass knuckles.

Jarnagan or his friend gave the suspect $20 to leave them alone, police said.

Jarnagan and his friend drove to another parking lot and called 911. Jarnagan needed staples for his injury.

The group of teenagers then dispersed before police arrived.

The police report details disturbing messages on Snapchat during a group chat hours after the attack.

“I didn't even fight back…I just punched his ass after he wouldn't let me steal his car…I still got $20,” three messages from the suspect said.

“The only thing I want to see is the world burn lmao. I'm here to burn this (expletive) world (racial slur),” another post said.

Other messages said: “Do you have extra knuckles? …I'm trying to send these kids to the hospital”

Jarnagan's mother posted a message in a Facebook group called “Go Gilbert,” which detailed what happened to Jarnagan and showed the wound on the back of his head.

She asked for help finding the suspects.

A new conversation in the Snapchat group started around 1 p.m. the next day.

“Can we all go on a police killing spree,” one person asked.

“Suicide by cop is the real way to go,” another post read.

In another group chat, the suspects wrote, “we still shouldn't go in (N) out” and “they're still patrolling there.”

Another message read: “And as soon as they find out we are the ones who participated in all the fighting… We will be charged with over 30 assaults.”

The Snapchat group chats were called “Untoucahble Ninja's,” “Goofy goobers” and “The Streets,” according to police.

Some suspects said they were never arrested.

“5 incidents with brass knuckles, yes they are not playing now,” one person said.

“Nana boo boo you can’t catch me,” said another.

A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were subsequently arrested in this case.

Since the attack, Jarnagan has advocated for a ban on brass knuckles.

Although a statewide ban failed in the Legislature, Chandler and Gilbert approved ordinances making the gun illegal.
