New dining concept opens near River Ranch

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (KLFY) – A Baton Rouge-based restaurant is opening a location near River Ranch in Lafayette.

SoLou, will open a location on Monday, June 3 near River Ranch at 1905 Kaliste Saloom Road, in the former Grub Burger. This is the first location outside of Baton Rouge. The original location in Baton Rouge opened in 2021 and was named Baton Rouge's Best New Restaurant in its first year. SoLou offers a modern take on Louisiana comfort food and drinks, while still providing a chic setting.

Founder and CEO of Make a hospitality group of raving fans, Peter Sclafani, is excited to bring SoLou to Lafayette. “We are excited to bring SoLou to Lafayette. The space has undergone a transformation that honors SoLou’s identity and will resonate with the Lafayette community. Sclafani knows Lafayette as the former co-owner and executive chef of Ruffino's.

The former Grub Burger location was transformed and branded by the same architecture, DNA and branding firm, Xdesign, Inc., used for the successful Baton Rouge location. It will offer Lafayette residents and visitors a distinctive atmosphere, excellent cuisine and daily brunch.

SoLou will join the list of Baton Rouge restaurants that have expanded to Lafayette, including Ruffino's, The Chimes, Superior Grill, Walk-On's and Raising Canes.
