On June 11, 2024, New Bern Police received reports of a porch pirate operating near the West New Bern and Lake Tyler subdivisions, stealing packages from residents' porches. .

Police received ring camera style footage of the suspect in action and took to social media to help the public identify her.

On June 13, police were able to identify the suspect: Tiffany D Hasson, 44 years old.

Hasson was charged with 2 counts of misdemeanor theft.
