Nelson County Sheriff seeks 22-year-old man wanted for alleged crimes with minor

NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Nelson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a wanted man believed to be connected to a sexual assault investigation involving a minor.

The sheriff says on May 30, deputies, along with Nelson County Animal Control and Virginia State Police, went to the area of ​​Hughes Lane in Shipman to locate 22-year-old Nathan Ryan Wooten .

Wooten is currently wanted in Nelson County on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 and sexual penetration by object of a victim under the age of 13.

He was reportedly last seen in a house in the area, fleeing law enforcement. A search was carried out in the area but he was not found.
