Varanasi: Dozens of NEET aspirants along with locals took to the streets of Lanka region on Saturday to protest against alleged irregularities in the results of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (UG) 2024. Holding placards and shouting slogans like 'We want justice' and 'All Eyes on NEET', they demanded a review of NEET UG 2024 and corrective action from the National Testing Agency (NTA). Questioning the integrity of the NTA, the protesting aspirants also demanded a revaluation of the NEET UG exam. NEET aspirants gathered near the main gate of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Lanka to stage their protest. They demanded to hold the entrance exam again. After an hour of protest, the police intervened and calmed the students. The demonstration was later cancelled. Aspirants said that this year around 24 lakh students appeared for the NEET exam. Of them, around 13 lakh students have passed. “This is the first time that 67 students have secured first rank and eight students from one center have secured 720 out of 720 marks,” wondered one of the candidates. demands are not met at the earliest.
