Near-record records expected this weekend in Central Florida – WFTV

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida has a scorching weekend ahead.

Many places will flirt with record temperatures and plenty of sunshine.

Highs will reach the mid 90s on Friday and the upper 90s on Saturday and Sunday.

Additionally, the heat index will reach 100 to 103 degrees in many communities.

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible again Friday afternoon.

Storm risks on Friday are not expected to be as aggressive as Thursday evening.

Heavy rain and lightning will be possible and favor the eastern half of central Florida.
