National Hurricane Center monitors disturbances near Barbados

The National Hurricane Center issued a statement Friday reporting a strong tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean. The tropical wave is about 400 miles southeast of Barbados. The tropical wave is moving towards the Caribbean Sea. The NHC said the disturbance is producing scattered showers and storms affecting Guyana, Suriname and offshore waters. The disturbance does not pose a threat to the United States on Friday. The tropical wave is heading towards the Caribbean Sea.
