NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Police have arrested a teenager accused of brandishing a firearm outside a Kroger in Bordeaux over the weekend.

According to an arrest report, officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Kingview Drive on Saturday, June 29 after a person called dispatch to make a report of an individual with a weapon.

When officers arrived on scene, they spoke to Robert Turner, 18, who reportedly told them he was inside the Kroger in the 3900 block of Clarksville Pike when a group of people pointed a gun at him.

Court documents say an officer went to the Kroger to speak with people who may have witnessed the incident.

That's when several witnesses told the officer that Turner was the individual walking around the store with a gun and said he would shoot.

Video footage allegedly showed Turner holding a gun in his right hand as he walked around the store and waving it in the air once outside.

Police said he was wearing the same clothes he was wearing when officers responded to the home for the initial report.

According to court records, officers learned Turner was a convicted felon who had previously been arrested for burglary of a motor vehicle.

Turner was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm. When he was arrested, the 18-year-old reportedly told officers he saw a group of people outside the store and asked his friend for a gun to protect himself.

Turner claimed the group first brandished a gun, so he brandished his back. However, he denied waving it in the air and told officers “he pointed it at the ground”.

Authorities said he was taken into custody “due to video footage capturing the incident and his statements.”

Turner remains jailed on $50,000 bail.
