Nannette Singer identified as victim of Alpine County plane crash

Police say Singer was “a dedicated volunteer police officer, retired educator and devout Catholic” who is survived by her husband Sam and daughter Gabrielle.

The second passenger has not yet been identified by authorities. Flight maps show they were heading to South Lake Tahoe from Lodi. The crash was discovered around 5:30 a.m. after deputies with the Alpine County Sheriff's Office were alerted to an overdue flight around 1 a.m.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident.
