Names of victims released in Boggess Lane stabbing and Seasons Performance Hall shooting | News

YAKIMA, Wash. – The names of the victims of the Boggess Lane home invasion and shooting at Seasons Performance Hall were released at a press conference on Tuesday, June 11.

Yakima police said Joshua Hilmer, 42, was stabbed to death while trying to protect his 15-year-old daughter from a home intruder on Friday, June 7.

The girl reportedly went to the hospital following the intrusion. She is now in the care of other family members.

The YPD says the 33-year-old stabbing suspect, who was booked into the Yakima County Jail, was “acting erratically” and it's unclear if mental health, drugs or Alcohol played a role in his actions.

The same day, James Cloinger, 38, was reportedly near Seasons Performance Hall in Yakima and later died from his injuries.

YP reports that gang-affiliated performers were performing at the venue and a rival gang took the opportunity to attack. Cloinger was not affiliated with a gang.

Four people were arrested following the shooting, including one for a concealed carry violation.
