Musical Theater Academy Seeks Dance Instructor and Choreographer for Teen Musical Theater Program

The Musical Theater Academy is seeking a dance instructor and choreographer for a week-long musical theater program for teens.

This is a paid position to choreograph and teach dance to approximately 10-20 teens ages 13 and up in a week-long musical theater workshop that takes place Monday, August 5 through Friday August 9. 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Ideal candidates are aged 18 and over and are a strong dancer/choreographer with both performance and musical theater industry experience, and who is also prepared to command teaching a full room enthusiastic young artists of varying levels of intermediate experience while maintaining a positive and productive attitude. , and professional environment.

$20 to $24 per hour depending on experience.

The “Spotlight!” workshop Intensive,” aims to challenge students and grow them as individuals in their performance goals as solo artists and in ensemble work for musical theater.

The Co-Director/Choreographer will be responsible for creating and teaching the choreography of selected musical theater numbers in collaboration with the Educational Director (Kyle Lawrence), as well as teaching sessions based on more technical skills. They will also be present all day (9am-3pm) to be an active part of the team and assist in the areas of student engagement and behavior management, as needed. There is a showcase at the end of the week that will feature performances by the children of what was created/rehearsed during the week.
