A 13-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection with Kory's death and appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday June 3.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances of Kory's death and have announced that there will be more police patrols in the area to carry out their investigations.

They are very keen to hear from witnesses as they believe the park was very busy at the time of the alleged incident.

Detective Inspector William Downie, senior investigating officer, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Kory’s family at this very difficult time. They asked for privacy.

“Our investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances and police presence will be maintained in the area.

“Additional patrols are underway and anyone with concerns should speak to an officer.

“There were a lot of people in the park at the time and we are asking anyone who has not yet spoken to officers to contact us.

“If you can help, please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3996 of Friday May 31, 2024.”

After Kory's death, his former football team – Easterhouse Football Academy – paid tribute to him.

Football brings people together and forms teammates and friends for life – happy times when you win, lose or draw, but days like today, when “We lose a young person in a senseless incident, it's just unthinkable and difficult for Kory's coaches and teammates, so we can't imagine what Kory's family is going through.”

Several other tributes also poured in for the teenager on social media.

One person said: “So sad. Our condolences go out to all of Kory's family and friends.”
