Murder charge after man stabbed to death in street

A man has been charged with murder by police investigating a fatal stabbing.

The attack took place on Bradford Street in Bolton at around 7.15pm BST on Friday.

The victim, aged 35, was taken to hospital where he later died, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

Paul Simmons, 48, of Bradford Street, Bolton, has been charged with murder. Two other people were also charged in connection with the stabbing.

A 31-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with assisting an offender, while a 37-year-old woman, also of no fixed address, was charged with obstructing police.

GMP said a 40-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of assault, has been released on bail while investigations continue.
