Multiple suspects arrested in Cartersville double shooting investigation, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Multiple suspects have been arrested in connection with two Cartersville-related shootings, according to police.

The Cartersville Police Department said the first shooting happened April 23 in the area of ​​Lee Street and Walker Street. They said three suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting, including Ronald Michelle Osburn and MaKayla Ann Tanner.

Police said the second shooting happened on May 12. Early that morning, police responded to shots fired in the area of ​​Stokley Street.

They said officers recovered numerous shell casings from multiple weapons and found a vehicle with multiple gunshots on the driver's side. The driver and passenger “were not seriously injured,” police said.

On Tuesday, Cartersville police said their investigators and Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agents determined the two shootings were related. They did not provide details about their connection.

As a result of the investigation, seven other adults and one juvenile — who has not been identified — were arrested and charged for their alleged roles in the two shootings, police said.

Deon Shaquille Burton, Jesus Deshawn Williams, Jeremiah Keith Lambert, Joseph Kennemore, Zakavious Slocum and Jaylen Reece Sisson were each arrested on two counts of aggravated assault.

Naudia Renee Carter was arrested on a charge of hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal.

The suspects are being held at the Bartow County Jail awaiting bond hearings.

Along with the GBI, the Cartersville Police Department said it was assisted by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office, the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force and the United States Marshals Service.
