Multiple crews help extinguish building fire in Ware

WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – Multiple crews were called to a fire on Bacon Road in Ware early Friday morning.

According to the Ware Fire Department, on Friday around 12:48 a.m. a building fire was reported at 121 Bacon Road in Ware. When crews arrived, a fire broke out from the first floor window at the rear of the home.


Five family members were alerted by wired and interconnected smoke detectors spread across three floors of the house. All residents, including three dogs, were able to get out of the house without being injured.

The fire was extinguished in the back bedroom and the fire spread to the basement. Smoke damage was reported throughout the home and the fire was ruled accidental.

Palmer Fire, Warren Fire, Barre Fire, Bondsville Fire, Belchertown Fire, West Brookfield Fire, Brimfield Action Ambulance, National Grid and Cross American Red all helped put out the fire and help residents.
