(KRON) — A Mountain View middle school teacher was arrested Wednesday after being accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old student, Mountain View police said.

Ralph Turner, 59, of Sunnyvale, is a teacher at Graham Middle School, located at 1175 Castro St. He was placed on administrative leave after the Mountain View Whisman School District became aware of the charges against him.

MVPD interviewed the victim and other students who may have been witnesses or victims and obtained an arrest warrant. Police did not provide specific information about the crime.

Turner was charged with annoying and assaulting a child under 14 and false imprisonment. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

MVPD believes there may be additional victims in this case. Anyone who may have been a victim, knows a victim, or has additional information is asked to email Detective Guillermo de Lira at [email protected].

Turner was only charged with a misdemeanor, making his photo ineligible for release by Mountain View police.
