Mount Vernon woman fatally slashed in Williamsbridge

A 37-year-old Mount Vernon woman died after being slashed in the neck early Saturday morning in Williamsbridge, police said.

The victim, identified as Ashley Smith, was found at a home on Oakley Street. She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where authorities say she was pronounced dead.

NYPD and neighbors at the scene told News 12 the outages happened during a house party. Neighbors say they believe a fight broke out.
