Motorcyclist killed in I-8 crash identified

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 8 in the College Area last month has been identified by authorities.

According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, David Priest, a 59-year-old San Diego resident, was riding a black motorcycle eastbound along I-8 on the evening of June 28.

Authorities say he was changing lanes when he rear-ended a Honda Pilot. Upon impact, Priest was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the travel lane of I-8.

First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. The cause of death was listed by the medical examiner as “multiple blunt force injuries.”
