Motorcyclist identified in fatal crash in Colorado Springs | Traffic

The motorcyclist who died in a fatal accident on June 1 was identified as a Colorado Springs local, police said.

Friday evening, Cody Ray, 27, was traveling south on North Hancock Avenue and Fourth Street at more than twice the 30 mph speed limit when a vehicle I drove through a stop sign and hitidentified with Ray, throwing him of his motorcycle.

Responding officers from the Falcon division of the CSPD pronounced him died at the scene.

The police department said in its statement that speed was the contributing factor in the crash, adding that the investigation was still ongoing.

CSPD figures show it's the 25thth fatal traffic accident in Colorado Springs this year, and there were 20 at the same time Last year.
