Motorcyclist identified in fatal collision with SUV on Northwest Side

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist who died after a collision with an SUV on the Northwest Side has been identified.

The medical examiner identified the motorcyclist as 30-year-old Justin Diego Blu Lopez.

The fatal crash occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday when officers responded to a downed motorcyclist near the corner of Babcock Road and Huebner Road.

Police on scene reported the motorcycle was traveling south along Babcock Road when a white SUV left the HEB parking lot.

The driver of the SUV was attempting to turn left into the northbound lanes of Babcock when the two collided.

The driver of the SUV told police they looked both ways, but did not see the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, a man in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The incident remains under investigation. Police do not believe drunkenness is a factor at this time and have not placed fault on either party.
